Project «Shorika»: Post-Project Activities in the Field of Development of Information Technologies in Education

Project “Shorika” [1], supported by German Scientific Research Society (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG) and Russian Foundation for Fundamental Research was implemented in 1999-2001. The work of the international group of scientists yielded in an electronic body of texts in Shor language, registered in the “Red Book of Languages of Peoples of Russia” («Красная книга языков народов России») (Насилов 1994). The Electronic Body of Shor Texts (EBST) was compiled using the version 4 of the Shoebox program.

In the report the structure of EBST is described. The electronic body consists of three main parts: 1) multi-level body of Shore texts, 2) Shor vocabulary in MDF (Shoebox' Multi Dictionary Formatter) format and 3) automated morphological analysis. EBST was laid in the basis of newly created website “Shoriya” (mirror).

There is information on post-project use of EBST, namely, on the introduction of discipline “Electronic Technologies in Teaching Shor Language in Universities and Schools” (authored by E.V. Esipova), allotted 20 hours, to the curriculum of Shor division of the Department of Russian language and literature, Kuzbass State Pedagogical Academy. The results of students’ work are presented in the frameworks of the present course.
